Linking People, Linking to the Future
"Three triangles” is a symbol of NAIST,
which means the research fields of information science, biotechnology, and material science.
By mixing and connecting these triangles,
we hope that our science and technology will become an indispensable new triangle like a "omusubi" in everyone's life.
Based on the vision, we will create the “omusubi” of the future.
Next Generation Co-Creation Space: CDG Commons
An open space for creating collaboration
The CDG Commons is an open space for our activity where faculty, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and others can freely collaborate across disciplinary boundaries. We renovated a room that the flooring is made of Nara's Yoshino cedar, so that users can feel the warmth of the natural wood from their bare feet, not from the dirt, and the fragrance of the wood helps to soothe the mind and stimulate their five senses. For the fixtures, we designed a variable furniture unit made of recycled materials, which can be combined into low benches, desks, stands, and partitions, and so on. The users can freely reconfigure the furniture to form spontaneous communication.
