NAIST SDGs Action 2024 Vol.2 – Satoyama Conservation 2024 part.1 (June 9, 2024)

Akitsuho no Sato” Satoyama Conservation 2024

Sugiura Farm GambaFarm grows rice and vegetables in terraced rice paddies and fields at the foot of Mount Kongo in Katsuragi without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers, thereby revitalizing the local community and promoting satoyama conservation. This year, NAIST will again participate in the event of “Kaze no Mori” Akitsuho Rice Cultivation, which produces rice used to make sake, a local Japanese alcoholic beverage. On the day of the event, participants will have the opportunity to get in touch with the satoyama by planting, weeding, and harvesting rice along with many other participants. We look forward to your participation if you are interested.
